Napoleon Bonapartes RedLancers Sabre and Sheath
At almost 200 years old, this is a very rare collectors piece crafted by D’Armement de Chatellerault in 1822 for Napoleon Bonapartes 2e régiment de chevau-légers lanciers de la Garde Impériale (Redlancers).
The elegant frame is gold, decorated with laurel branches on the cap, rosettes and florets at the top of the main branch, chiseled palms on the sides of the side branches and a palm leaf with acanthus leaf on the tray.
This beautifully crafted Sabre has the markings C and H for the controllers Chourad, Clemenceau and Jean-Marie Brenier. The Blades edge is engraved with “Coulaux and cie Klingenthal Manufacture d’Armement de Chatellerault Aout 1892 Off de Caval Légère Modèle 1822 Ent A Treuille” as are all Napoleans Bonapartes Imperial Swords.
This Imperial Sword model was used by horseback hunters, hussars, spear men and the horse artillery in conflicts in Europe, North Africa, the Crimea and Mexico for nearly 150 years.
This is a True Champagne Opener from the victorious days of Napoleon Bonaparte.
