buried in Georgia’s Confederate Cemetery along side his comrades many of whom were linked to the KKK

As was Isaiah Stokes also a recorded member of the KKK in 1870

Nathan Bedford Forrest, is said to have been for a time the Klan’s leader as Grand Imperial Wizard. In 1868 he said that the Klan had well over 500,000 members in the southern states and Membership  records were forbidden because for the Force Act of 1871
